Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has inaugurated a leather hub in the state's Fatuha Industrial Area.

More than 600 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs are likely to invest in the hub, being established by Aparna Industrial Promotion Council, an organization established by leather entrepreneurs of Mumbai.

The CM said the hub would house several factories and would generate over 10,000 new employment opportunities.

Bihar produces superior quality leather and also has skilled workers, but despite that the leather industry has been flourishing in Mumbai. Due to this, several investors and skilled workers from Gopalganj, Siwan, Nawada and other areas of state migrated to Mumbai.

However, following establishment of the leather hub in Fatuha, these investors will return to Bihar, the CM said and added that this would give the skilled leather workers of Bihar a chance to work in their native state.

This reversing trend is an answer to all those who had been stating that no new investments would come to Bihar, Mr. Kumar said. There is no misconception about Bihar in the minds of investors anymore, and they are ready to invest in the state, he added.

Several Mumbai-based leather entrepreneurs are geared up to set up their industries in the Fatuha leather hub, which would significantly bring down unemployment rate in the state, the CM stated.

Further, stating that Bihar has great potential for solar energy and they are working for overall growth of solar energy sector in the state, he assured the investors that by the time their units start operating, the state would become self-reliant in power generation.

The CM also announced that a business meet would be organized shortly to address the issues of the industrialists.
