Sweeping reforms to indirectly help Indian export sector

Welcoming the decision to allow multi brand retail, increasing FDI limit in airlines and disinvestment of state enterprises in the country, Mr M. Rafeeque Ahmed, President, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) said that the decisions will benefit the country in numerous way.

India will emerge as the most attractive destination for not only FDI but also FII who will be encouraged to actively participate the economy. Government will be able to bridge the gap in increasing fiscal and current account deficits.

Consumers will be immensely benefited and it will indirectly help export sector. Indian manufacturers will be exposed to quality products which will prompt domestic producers to meet such benchmarks opening opportunity for exports added Mr Ahmed.
