CMP Asia, one of the leading trade fair organisers in Asia, has donated US $30,000 to Sarojin Khao Lak Community Fund to help the tsunami survivors in Thailand to rebuild schools.

The Fund provides support to school children who continue to suffer from the severe damage caused by the tsunami disaster of December 2004.

Beneficiaries of the CMP Asia donation include 166 students and nine teachers from two schools in the Khao Lak area of Phang-nga province in Thailand that are in urgent need of new school buildings, books, other learning material and equipment.

Peter Sutton, President and CEO of CMP Asia said: "The children have been having a very difficult time since the tsunami. We hope our contribution will go some way toward helping them resume their studies and regain confidence in their future."

Nearly two years ago, on December 26, 2004, the tsunami disaster severely hit the coast of six provinces in the southern part of Thailand, among which Phang-nga province is one of the most severely affected.
