Kolkata leather factory in flames

Kolkattans were just recuperating from the mishap that struck Nandaram market of Burrabazar a month ago, and once again a blazing fire engulfed the three storeyed leather goods manufacturing unit of Kasba Industrial Estate at 8 am today morning.
Leather products worth lakhs of rupees burnt into ashes, while fire tenders struggled hard to bring the situation under control.
Although, no injury has been reported yet, it took nearly 17 fire tenders, 80 firemen and five lengthy hours to extinguish the blaze.
The flames could be seen on the first floor of the factory, situated in Phase I of the Kasba Industrial Estate. An enormous amount of inflammable articles, chemicals, adhesives and leather goods acted as catalyst in spreading the fire to the other floors of the unit.
Forensic report is yet to confirm the cause of fire.
