The plenary sessions of the Boards of Governors of the IDB and its affiliate, the Inter-American Investment Corporation, will take place on April 7 and 8. As the IDB's and IIC's top policymaking bodies, the boards will examine their policies and new initiatives. Governors are finance ministers, presidents of central banks and other high-ranking officials from the IDB's 47 member countries.

The annual meeting's inaugural session will be held at the Fillmore Center/Jackie Gleason Theater on April 7. All the other official events will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

TV and Radio:
The IDB will provide daily video footage and audio clips of highlights of the activities of the 2008 Annual Meeting through its website at IADB website. In addition, it will offer free video coverage from April 3 through April 8, which will be broadcast via satellite, according to the following transmission schedule.

Art Exhibits:
In conjunction with the annual meeting, the IDB Cultural Center is holding an art exhibit, Extended Boundary: Latin American and Caribbean Artists in Miami, at its Washington, D.C. headquarters, from March 20 through May 2, 2008.

Another exhibition, Beyond Borders, with 63 major pieces of the IDB Art Collection selected by the Miami Dade College Art Gallery System, will take place at the Freedom Tower on Biscayne Boulevard from March 25 to April 26, 2008. The IDB will also be present at the Merrill Lynch Arteamericas Art Fair in the Miami Beach Convention Center at the end of March.

The IDB Cultural Center is a sponsor of the 2008 Miami International Film Festival. The Miami Dade College Gallery System is presenting the IDB Cultural Center's Third Inter-American Biennial of Video Art as part of the festival.

Carbon Neutral:
The 2008 Annual Meeting will be a carbon neutral event. Starting in 2006, the IDB decided to offset or neutralize greenhouse gas emissions from participants' flights, local travel and accommodations, as well as from the venues where conferences are held, through the purchase of carbon credits from projects that bring renewable energy solutions to communities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
