Austria donates CHF 323,000 to DDAGTF

Austria donated CHF 323,000 (about EUR 200,600) to the Doha Development Agenda Global Trust Fund (DDAGTF).
This donation will finance technical assistance programmes and training activities for developing and least developed countries as well as economies in transition.
The aim is to better adapt their practices and laws to WTO rules and disciplines, improve the implementation of their obligations and enhance the exercise of their membership rights.
“I welcome Austria's contribution that will help developing countries to improve their participation in the multilateral trading system” declared WTO Director General Pascal Lamy.
Austrian Federal Minister of Economics and Labour Martin Bartenstein stated “This contribution is a visible expression of Austria's commitment to assist developing countries in enabling them to better integrate in the global economy and to expand their trading capacities”.
