After a negotiation that went on for over half a month, Shanghai Consumers Protection Association emerged successful in bringing out to Adidas, the problems of the three guarantees for footwear assured by the company.
These 'three guarantees' largely included repair, replacement and compensation of faulty products. However, the problems faced have been efficiently solved and the association seemed overwhelmed by the extremely inspiring attitude of Adidas.
Revision of these guarantees had been sought because China does not have the related laws and regulations about such services. Adidas agreed to the proposal of perfecting the guarantees according to the norms prevalent in various countries. Additionally, the company also proposed to make a detailed study on the rules so as to set up higher standards and provide better services to Chinese consumers.
Presently, the association is actively dealing with the complaints arising out of inappropriateness of the guarantees and is working out a strategy to ensure that the new services of the company can be availed by consumers who bought the products in the past.
