Crude oil production registers a growth of 0.9% in April

The Index of Six core-infrastructure industries having a combined weight of 26.7 per cent in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) with base 1993-94 stood at 232.3 (provisional) in April 2008 and registered a growth of 3.6% (provisional) compared to a growth of 5.9 % in April 2007.
During April-March 2007-08, six core infrastructure industries registered a growth of 5.6% (provisional) as against 9.2% during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Crude Oil: Crude Oil production (weight of 4.17% in the IIP) registered a growth of 0.9% (provisional) in April 2008 compared to a growth rate of 1.4% in April 2007.
The Crude Oil production registered a growth of 0.4% (provisional) during April-March 2007-08 compared to 5.6% during the same period of 2006-07.
Petroleum Refinery Products: Petroleum refinery production (weight of 2.00% in the IIP) registered a growth of 4.3% (provisional) in April 2008 compared to growth of 15.1% in April 2007.
The Petroleum refinery production registered a growth of 6.5% (provisional) during April- March 2007-08 compared to 12.9% during the same period of 2006-07.
