Retail trade sales drop in April

Retail trade sales at constant (2000) prices decreased year-on-year for the second consecutive month, recording a drop of 0.3% in April 2008 compared with April 2007.
While the growth in retail trade sales, at constant (2000) prices, for the first four months of 2008 was positive with an increase of 0.4% compared with the corresponding period of 2007, this was lower than the 8.9% increase reported for the same period in 2007.
Retail trade sales at current prices, for the three months up to April 2008, increased by 12.6% compared with the three months up to April 2007.
In the corresponding period of 2007 there was an increase of 14.6%. Retail trade sales at current prices increased by 12.4% in April 2008 compared with April 2007.
While the growth in retail trade sales, at constant (2000) prices, for the first four months of 2008 was positive with an increase of 0.4% compared with the corresponding period of 2007, this was lower than the 8.9% increase reported for the same period in 2007.
Retail trade sales at current prices, for the three months up to April 2008, increased by 12.6% compared with the three months up to April 2007.
In the corresponding period of 2007 there was an increase of 14.6%. Retail trade sales at current prices increased by 12.4% in April 2008 compared with April 2007.
