French entrepreneurs ally seeking entry into ASEAN market

During the Vietnam-France Business Forum which took place on June 25, Mr Frederic Sanchez, French Business Association President expressed that Vietnam was the biggest potential market for French businesses, acting as a door to the ASEAN market.

The forum was also attended by Nguyen Phu Trong, Chairman of Vietnamese National Assembly, who along with other leaders stated that the country would look forward to develop economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. Mr Trong also had a schedule for a three day visit to France to give expression to this objective.

Mr Frederic also held similar views and believed that the forum will facilitate discussions for business between the two countries and also that it will make way for a more effective cooperation.

Even now, the two countries cooperate on various issues and exchange visits to discuss long term cooperation for developing an ideal partnership. Mr Trong seemed very optimistic as he stated that Vietnam was placing huge importance on development of bilateral and multilateral relations with France allowing it to have an easy access to the ASEAN market.

However, he was also hopeful that France being a major partner in Europe would help Vietnam expand its comprehensive cooperation with the European Union.
