Recently, Herbert Hainer, CEO, Adidas, revealed that Company, which plans to own 6300 stores in China by 2010, would open around 1135 new outlets by the end of this year.

He explained that about 97 percent of these shops will mainly offer Performance Series of sports products, while the rest will focus on the Original Series range.

Officials said that since competition will become more and more severe, Adidas expects to dominate high-end market by raising retail prices. Hainer stressed that, today, many locals are able to afford shoes priced between US $80-90.

However, the stores in counties will offer sports shoes at lower prices.

China has become one of the top consumption countries in the world and many international corporations are trying to grab this opportunity.

Experts believe that Adidas is in a perfect position because of its highly recognized name. Besides, statistics show that over 264 Chinese footwear manufacturers supply products to this conglomerate.
