The Government has engaged aggressively in promoting investment opportunities and creating a conducive business environment for investors says Trade Minister Tom Ricketts.

Mr Ricketts highlighted the need to take advantage of trade agreements like PICTA, PACER, as this will provide an avenue to thrive on trade and investment and said that Fiji should look at expanding its trade network and further trade relations with other countries other than its traditional trade partners.

“Under the South-South Cooperation, Fiji could look at developing exports and investment opportunities with countries in South-East Asia, South Asia and the Middle East like Dubai. Moreover, Fiji should also look at exploring the opportunities available under PICTA,” he said.

“We will be able to trade under this Agreement from 2009 and the EPA Agreement when it comes into force after negotiations.
