Addressing a delegation comprising representatives of various industries, Mr Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Advisor to Prime Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives affirmed that the Government is committed to promoting the industrial and manufacturing sectors for the economic growth of the country.

Besides, it was also revealed that the Government would take efforts to generate employment opportunities and improve the income of the people, thereby reducing poverty.

The business delegation, comprising representatives of Federation of Pakitan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), All Pakistan Ginners Association (APGA), and Agro Chemical among others, were assured that their genuine problems would be taken into consideration and efforts would be made to bring about their solution.

The main objective of the meeting was to discuss problems facing the industrial and manufacturing sectors while concerned stakeholders were also invited to give suggestions for the existing problems faced by the sectors. These will be submitted to the Prime Minister for developing policies to resolve the crisis.

After an assurance from the minister that their problems would be settled, APGA announced to call off their strike. The delegation on its part kept the minister abreast about the persistent problem of load-shedding and hike in petroleum prices which have increased the cost of doing business in the country.
