China footwear exports up 14.3 percent in Jan-Aug

China's footwear exports amounted to US $19.414 billion in the period January to August 2008, up 14.3 percent from the same time last year.
Among them, exports in August marked $2.86 billion, according to the statistics released by the General Administration of Customs.
In comparison, China's footwear exports from January to August 2007 amounted to $16.98 billion.
According to statistics released earlier by the General Administration of Customs, China's footwear exports touched $16.54 billion from January-July 2008, a year-on-year increase of 14.2 percent and July footwear exports registered $3.08 billion.
