On 1st October Fabio Aromatici will take over management of the National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers, following Leonardo Soana's 25 years heading the Association.

Class of 1962, graduated in law, Fabio Aromatici has built up his experience in Italy and overseas in various work environments, ranging from the Chamber's system to industrial associations, from private companies to consultancy offices.

The development of international relations, aimed at the growth of Italian businesses; the knowledge of associative dynamics; the coordination of projects to make the most of the territory and the businesses and the management of promotional and internationalisation initiatives of a wide range: these are the main common traits of a professional course that now leads Fabio Aromatici to the head of an Association, ANCI, that represents a sector in a phase of deep change.

From 1988 to 1994 Fabio Aromatici was Secretary of the Electromedical Appliances Group of ANIE, the Association of Electrotechnical and Electronic Industries, covering also the role of manager for the promotion of associated companies.

Then in 1994 he entered the Chambers Union of Lombardy in the role of Sectorial Politics Area Manager, coordinating, among other things, projects and initiatives for the development of international commerce, transport, tourism and the protection of the environment.

From 1995 to 1997 Aromatici moved to the USA, to the offices of De Barbieri & Associates Inc International venture capital and business development group in New Haven, taking over the role of Manager for the development of collaboration agreements between Italian SMEs and American businesses.

On returning to Italy in 1997, Fabio Aromatici became Export Manager for the Gibam Group in Fano until 1999, when he transferred to Assolombarda as Small Business Manager and, following that, to the role of Market and Business Area Director, dealing in particular with international commerce and projects for internationalisation, marketing, quality and R&D.

“ANCI”, says Fabio Aromatici, “is an Association that is particularly active in the promotion of footwear at an international level and so we will continue to be committed to this, accompanying the operative actions with a growing number of economical and statistical information that can be used as guidance for companies, especially in a moment of great economical unrest such as the present one.

The entry of China into the WTO in 2001, the economic crisis and financial turbulence that will have an impact on all markets and so, therefore, on our sector that exports more than 70% of its production - these are just some of the factors of instability.

It is more important than ever to help companies both through information to support their decisions as well as with concrete initiatives to support their internationalisation.”

“Again with the aim of supplying a wealth of information and services both for companies as well as for the territorial associations,” the new Director again underlines, “ANCI is renewing its website in order to make it even more immediate and usable for its visitors.
