The Ministry of MSME has taken a number of initiatives to provide much needed exposure to the SMEs and to afford them a chance to feel the pulse of consumers. To enable the SMEs to participate in Asia's largest Trade Fair at very concessional rate is the main objective of this initiative.

MSME EXPO–2008 is being organised for a second successive year in Hall No. 15, Pragati Maidan, at India International Trade Fair from November 14-27, 2008.

The MSME EXPO–2008 will help the SMEs to showcase the achievements of MSME sector; to instil confidence amongst MSME, introduce their products to domestic consumer, to encourage production of quality goods and to encourage these entrepreneurs to be innovative.

This EXPO will also provide opportunities to the SMEs for business to business linkages. The major attraction of the MSME EXPO–2008 is women entrepreneurs and artisans from all over the country displaying their products.

The products range includes garments, house-hold utility items, food products, ayurvedic & herbal products, glass & ceramic, artificial jewellery, carpets, shawls, consumer, electrical & electronic goods, engineering products, health care, cosmetics, handicraft, etc.

More than 100 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (exhibitors) from different parts of the country are participating in the fair. Many of the participants are National Award winners and ISO-9000 to 14000 Certificate holders. Nearly 70% of the entrepreneurs participating in the EXPO are women including women from SC/ST and minority community entrepreneurs.
