600 personalities participate at 'Celebrity Charity Shoe Throwing Competition'

"The Salvation Army is grateful to be selected as the official charity of the 'Janeen Mansour Celebrity Shoe Drive," said Major Victor A. Leslie, Divisional Commander, The Salvation Army Southern, California Division. "The donated shoes will go a long way in helping rebuild the lives of those in need, one step at a time."
The Salvation Army was established in 1865 and has since been supporting those in need in the United States without discrimination. More than 35 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. The Salvation Army is already present in over 120 countries, including Kuwait and is looking at setting up in Dubai, UAE.
“The success of this event has paved the way for further collaboration with The Salvation Army, and I would like to thank everyone who participated at the event and made donations to support this cause. By bringing celebrities to this fun-filled family event, we were able to bring more attention to needy families, especially in these hard economic times. The considerable donations we have seen in this event is also my inspiration for planning a similar event to be staged in Dubai this year and again in Los Angeles in July,” concluded Mansour.
