DHL staff deliver hat trick win at National Sales & Marketing Awards

DHL Express UK delivered a successful result at the 2009 British Excellence in Sales & Marketing Awards with half of the short-listed DHL staff winning the top prize in their categories.

Of the six short-listed DHL employees, three were successful in scooping the awards against the likes of nominees from Royal Mail, Vodafone, NatWest and AXA Insurance.

The accolade represents the UK's highest level of recognition for outstanding sales achievement and identifies businesses that demonstrate best practice in every aspect of sales and marketing.

The prestigious 'Sales Professional of the Year (in a business with over 50 employees)' award was presented to Amanda King, a Field Sales Account Manager who has worked at DHL Express for seven years managing a variety of customers who use DHL's international network for their transport and shipping needs. Amanda's win recognised the excellent relationships she has built with her customers through her exceptional knowledge of the business.

The 'New Sales Professional of the Year' was awarded to Sam Slade, who has been a DHL Express Telesales Executive for only 10 months and has continued to deliver over his target as well as identifying numerous international sales leads for the company.

Simon Clarke, a DHL Express Senior Telesales Executive, won the 'Telesales Professional of the Year' for his impressive work motivating his team and delivering maximum results for the business.

Alan Cassels, Managing Director DHL International Express UK, commented: “We had a record number of nominations with 17 staff members across 12 categories being put forward which clearly demonstrates that we have a dedicated, hard working team at DHL.

“We recognise the importance of attracting talented professionals into our business and assisting them to develop to their full potential which continually improves the quality of our sales team, and ultimately drives our business success.”
