Exports to India record triple digit growth in 2008

According to recently released figures from the Vietnamese MOIT, the total export turnover from Vietnam to India in 2008, climbed to US $388.9 million, a fantabulous growth of 140.6 percent over 2007.
The key products shipped to the country during the period included coal worth $54.76 million; computer and electronic products $29.058 million and coffee $10.60 million, an increase of 164.1, 170.3 and 300.04 percent respectively.
Some other products, in contrast, witnessed strong declines in exports to the Indian market, such as pepper $9.037 million, down 66.4 percent and vegetables $1.21 million, down by 56 percent.
