Safexpress Pvt. Ltd., the largest Indian Supply Chain and Logistics Company, has unveiled its high-tech Logistics Park in Ahmedabad. Covering a massive area of 2,74,000 square feet, this ultra-modern Logistics Park will be providing its clients with cutting edge state-of-the-art trans-shipment and 3PL services.

The launch is in line with the company's strategy of developing 32 ultra-modern Logistics Parks at key industrial hubs in India. Earlier this month, the company has already set up two of its state-of-the art Logistics Parks in Gurgaon and Nagpur. The Logistics Park in Ahmedabad is the company's third successful launch within this month.

Speaking on this occasion Mr. Vineet Kanaujia, GM – Marketing, Safexpress said, “There is a huge growth opportunity for the warehousing business in India. Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are one of the major driving forces for Warehousing business in India. A large number of upcoming SEZs have necessitated the development of Logistics Parks for the domestic market as well as for global trade.”

Ahmedabad is fast emerging as a very important Logistics Hub in India. Heightened manufacturing activities and proposed SEZs make Ahmedabad as one of the highest potential destinations for the Indian Supply Chain and Logistics Industry.

Speaking about why the company has chosen Ahmedabad as a location for its Logistics Park, Mr. Kanaujia said, “Ahmedabad holds a very promising future, courtesy its growing textiles, pharma, chemicals and infrastructure industries. From the point of view of Supply Chain and Logistics, Ahmedabad holds a crucial position. With over 73,500 kilometers of road length passing through Gujarat and 95% of it being surfaced roads, opportunities regarding Supply Chain and Logistics in this region are immense. Our Logistics Park is located on NH 8A which is well connected to different parts of the country.”

Talking about how Safexpress is driving the Warehousing Revolution in India, Mr. Kanaujia highlighted, “The demand for high-tech ultra-modern Warehouses will grow exponentially in coming years. With the phasing out of Central Sales Tax (CST) by 2010, Manufacturers will readily outsource their Warehousing requirements to the Third Party. This will help the Manufacturers to save costs and to focus on their core business. Having envisaged this huge potential for providing Warehousing support to customers, we have planned big ticket investments in Warehousing at key industrial hubs across the country.”

He further added, “We will be creating 5 million square feet of additional warehousing space across the country in the next couple of years, adding to our already existing warehousing space of 5 million square feet. Once ready, these Logistics Parks will totally redefine the way Supply Chain functions in our country today.”

Speaking about the Safexpress Logistics Park at Ahmedabad, Mr. Kanaujia said, “Our Logistics Park will be operational 24X7, 365 days in a year to provide 'time-definite' deliveries. Courtesy our seamless operations, we provide the fastest transit time for deliveries from Ahmedabad to over 560 cities across the country. We have a capability to deliver in 1.8 days from Ahmedabad by surface across India. Special initiatives have been taken by us to make our Logistics Park eco-friendly. For safer and smoother movement of goods within the Logistics Park, the company has installed high-tech equipment to ensure that the goods are handled very carefully.”
