Bates Footwear(Bates), a division of Wolverine World Wide Inc., has received a $13 million contract to manufacture approximately 165,000 pair of Temperate Weather Combat Boots for the U.S. Army, with two optional one-year contract renewals.

The Army Temperate Weather Combat boot is primarily used by Army soldiers in cold weather environments, including regions such as Afghanistan.

The boot features a waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex membrane and a Vibram rubber outsole, providing a high level of comfort and durability. Bates has manufactured a similar boot for the U.S. Army since 2003. The U.S. Army Temperate Weather Combat Boots are manufactured with 100% domestic materials at Bates' facilities in Big Rapids, Michigan and Jonesboro, Arkansas, maintaining the company's commitment to manufacturing in the United States.

“This contract represents an important win for Bates, as it continues domestic production of a high-performance combat boot for the men and women of the U.S. Army. These boots are engineered to provide maximum performance in all combat conditions, from desert environments to mountainous terrain. We are honored to continue providing the Army with the boots our warfighters wear in combat.” said Ron Woznick, Vice President and General Manager of Bates Footwear.
