Shopper's Stop's Mr B. Nagesh moves into non-executive position

As part of succession planning and future development of the retail business of the K.Raheja Corp. group of companies, Mr. B.S.Nagesh has been appointed as the Vice-Chairman (Non Executive Director) of Shopper's Stop Ltd with effect from 18th August 2009.

Mr. Govind Shrikhande will take over the responsibility from Mr.B.S.Nagesh as the President and CEO of Shopper's Stop Ltd. Mr. Shrikhande has been with the company for the last 8 years. He started his association with the company as the Vice President of Buying & Merchandising function and has since grown within the company managing roles of the Chief Operating Officer before taking over charge as the CEO of the company 3 years back.

In his new role Mr. B.S.Nagesh will continue to play the role of strategic advisor to the management of Shopper's Stop Ltd. He will also be the mentor to the management team.

Mr. B.S. Nagesh was the first employee of the company involved with the set up and operations of Shopper's Stop for the last 19 years. He will continue to be on the board of Shopper's Stop Ltd; as a Non-Executive Director.

He will also continue to be the Chairman of the board of Crossword Bookstores Ltd. Mr. Nagesh is also the Vice Chairman of Hypercity Retail (India) Ltd.
