CIIF to kick off next month

"Situated at the center of the Pearl River Delta economic zone, Shenzhen is the first city in China to develop a global manufacturing base, thanks to its proximity to Hong Kong and Macao, and its extensive business network with the South East Asian countries. Shenzhen has witnessed the contribution of manufacturing industries to overall economic development. At the same time, it also reveals the need to restructure and upgrade the manufacturing industries. The CIIF is a platform for enterprises to further develop domestic and international markets to ease the impact of the financial crisis. It will also speed up the co-operation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong and stimulate domestic demand."
Mr. Cliff Sun, BBS, JP, Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Non-Executive Director of CSC, said, "Hong Kong's manufacturers in recent years have been faced with a myriad of structural changes. They include rising operating costs in the Pearl River Delta, a stronger Chinese yuan, and slower growth in key export markets such as Europe and the US. To achieve growth in this new era, Hong Kong industries should start turning their focus to China's domestic market. CIIF serves as an ideal starting point for Hong Kong manufacturers to reach out to potential buyers in China."
Mr. Ricky Cheng, Deputy Director, Organising Committee, China International Industrial Fair and Co-Chairman and Executive Director of CSC said, "We are honored that CIIF is holding its inaugural fair at China South City this year. Our large scale trade and logistics platform is characterized by the rich variety of light industry good and materials on display, a strategic geographical location, extensive transportation networks and comprehensive logistics facilities and services. However, the region is in need of an industrial fair specializing in industrial raw materials and products. With the establishment of CSC in the region, we are equipped to stage large scale international industrial fair.The CCPIT and CCIC have established cooperations with more than 400 chambers of commerce and industrial and trade associations from more than 180 countries.With the collaboration of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, we are confident of the success of this inaugural CIIF. Capitalising on the strong international network of the CCIC, we are also confident about continue organizing the fair for the long term."
