Zenith has launched a new leather degreaser called Zenith 609 based on nonylphenol ethoxylate free surfactants and latest grease removal and emulsification technology. The product provides superior degreasing with low residual fat and free fatty acid content. In addition, leathers come out whiter and with a dry, non-greasy feel.

Nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs) are used in domestic and industrial detergents, such as laundry detergents, leather degreasers, etc. It is now widely known that NPEs damage our environment and their use has been restricted in Europe, the US and other countries. Leathers found to contain NPE are being banned from import by many countries. Zenith 609 is based on latest surfactant and degreasing technologies and does not contain any NPEs.

In addition to being environment friendly, what is particularly attractive about Zenith 609 is its much lower cost in comparison to other commercial degreasers. The product is as much as 50% lower in price compared to many other leading degreasers, including NPE based products. In blind evaluations of wet blue leather degreased with different products, the pelts that were degreased with Zenith 609 were unanimously rated best, because they had distinctly better appearance and feel. This property, along with its superior cost-effectiveness, makes Zenith 609 particularly of interest for tanneries producing and selling wet blue leather, which is often judged and selected based on appearance and feel.

The product is effective over a wide pH range. It can be applied during the soaking, liming, deliming and tanning processes. The product is completely miscible in water, low foaming and fully biodegradable. Dosage levels range from 0.2 to 4.0%, depending on the type of hide or skin, and the final fat content required. You can arrange for Zenith to send you a free sample of Zenith 609 to conduct trials in your tannery. Zenith's laboratories can analyze your leather for residual fat and free fatty acid content free-of-charge. You can also request case studies detailing comparisons with other degreasers.

Also ask about Zenith's other environment friendly NPE-free degreasers Zenith is specialized in the development, production, marketing and servicing of specialty chemical products for use in industrial applications such as in the pulp and paper industry and the leather tanning industry.
