NRF asked for clarification on how a proposed new Customs Facilitation Partnership Program would work, and expressed concern about replacement of the existing Customs Oversight Advisory Committee with a new Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee.
NRF also expressed “significant concern” about how data collected for security purposes under the new Importer Security Filing program could be used for commercial enforcement purposes and potential penalties that could be associated with it.
