Dufry's mission to continue expanding Caribbean I Unit

Dufry would like to announce the appointment of Mr. José Rego as General Manager in the Dominican Republic, with the mission to continue expanding this key Caribbean operation.

Based in Santo Domingo and reporting to Mr. Oscar García (DCOO of Dufry's Caribbean I Business Unit, based in Puerto Rico), Mr. Rego will be in charge of the general management of the local operations and resources. He will also direct retail activities of the Dufry shops, and participate in determining the correct strategic, commercial and development plans for the area.

Along with this appointment, the Dominican Republic will become part of Dufry's Caribbean I Business Unit. This move pursues to further standardize Dufry's operating model in search of new efficiencies.

José Gonzalez, COO of Region Central America & Caribbean: “Mr. Rego has been promoted to this position after almost 20 years of successful career progression in the duty free industry in Brazil. His previous position was Sales Manager for Dufry Brazil in Sao Paulo, and as such he was in charge of operations and business objectives in the assigned area. Furthermore, Mr. Rego played a significant role in the initial set up of arrival stores in Dufry's Mexico operations. He will now be formally transferred to the Dominican Republic in January 2010.”
