Nuance-LFV agree on contract extension

The LFV Group, Arlanda Schiphol Development Company and The Nuance Group have agreed to extend their existing contract covering travel retail operations at 14 Swedish airports to the end of 2014. Nuance has been managing these operations since January 2002. The existing contract was valid until the end of 2010.
The contract extension covers an additional four-year period starting from January 2011 and applies to all of The Nuance Group's operations in Sweden. Nuance currently operates a total of 27 stores covering 5'750 square metres at Stockholm-Arlanda, Stockholm-Bromma, Gothenburg, Halmstad, Jönköping, Karlstad, Lulea, Malmö, Norrköping, Örnsköldsvik, Östersund, Skelleftea, Sundsvall and Umea airports. 288 employees work for The Nuance Group in Sweden.
The airport authorities and The Nuance Group can look back on a very successful cooperation over the past eight years, which has resulted in a considerable upgrading of the airports' retail activities. One major example for retail innovation is the 1,680 square metre mega Tax Free Store at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport's Terminal 5 which was introduced in December 2008. The award-winning* walkthrough concept features distinct “Worlds of…” for diverse product categories such as whisky, wine and champagne, chocolate, perfume, cosmetics or wellness and has met with enthusiastic customer response.
Andrea Belardini, CEO Europe, The Nuance Group, said: “We are excited to further strengthen our long term relationship with LFV by exercising our option to extend the existing contract. I wish to thank the LFV Management as well as our local management for the good cooperation and look forward to delivering further innovation in the Scandinavian market.”
Speaking on behalf of LFV Group, Thomas Cassel said: “The developments we have realised in our cooperation with The Nuance Group in the past years have been significant, both in terms of retail excellence and in terms of commercial results. We are looking forward to continuing this in the coming few years. The extended cooperation period opens new opportunities to build further on the business at LFV's airports in Sweden.”
