New biodegradable sole from Earth Inc

Beginning with Spring 2010, the new biodegradable sole will be found in every style across the Earth line. Similar to the presence of the BIOFoam logo on Earth styles with cushioning comprised of 70% recycled content, styles with the biodegradable sole will be denoted by distinctive artwork on the outsole. Online training for sales associates and an educational hangtag that calls out biodegradable features and benefits will also be part of the launch program.

Dave Aznavorian, Vice President, Marketing, Earth Footwear, comments, "Thinking about the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, we expected a lot out of ourselves given the enormity of the moment, our history as a sustainable leader in the footwear space, and our ongoing commitment to 'being different' and pushing boundaries."
