Due to increasing number of athletes and health-conscious professionals in Cebu, Philippines, Sports Central Manila Inc, a distributor of sports and lifestyle footwear and garments will soon set up more outlets in the city.

According to a senior official from the operations department of the company, the new trend of being health-conscious seems to be a profitable bet and owing to this, they expect that, the sales of the company too will increase this year. Currently, Sports Central distributes goods of brands such as Nike and Adidas in the country.

During a recent interview, this official said that, although most of their sales revenue was generated from basketball shoes, but the rising demand for running and training shoes, during the last couple of months, provoked them to open up new retail outlets.

For the company, Cebu is their top performer as sales of their goods are more as compared to sales done by North Edsa and Megamalls. Although, their basketball shoes are more in demand, training and running shoes are also picking up momentum.

Rising athletes and more number of gyms and fitness centres in the city was the main reason behind the growing trend.

Not only has Sports Central acquired an Adidas outlet at SM Cebu but the company has also launched a Nike outlet in the city. More number of outlets to come up in SM Mall, Consolacion, which is yet under construction, is still in the pipeline.
