The Chinese Vice-Premier, Wang Qishan said, “China wants to see the United States make substantial commitments and concessions on the issues, such as relaxation of export restrictions, equal treatment on Chinese companies investing in the United States, as well as recognition of China's market economy status.”

He was speaking during the second round of the Sino-US strategic economic dialogue on May 24. “We are pleased to see the commitments proposed by the US that it will relax export restrictions and welcome Chinese enterprises to invest in the United States.

"We hope to learn more about the timetable and road map in this round of dialogue, as to how the United States will gradually eliminate U.S. export restrictions to China's high-tech exports, equally treat Chinese companies investing in the United States, as well as recognize China's market economy status, "Wang said.

In addition, Wang noted, "The challenges to respond to crises and oppose all forms of trade protectionism are our common understanding and we hope that both sides will put forward concrete measures to hold back all forms of trade protectionism."

He added by saying, “China and the US are important members of the G-20 and they should pay attention to broader issues of regional and international economies and finance and should play stellar roles in the G-20 in international economic and financial affairs, while promoting structural reform of the global economy.”
