Country makes leather ball of 6.41 metre diameter

On June 1, the largest leather football, of 6.41 metre in diameter, made in Vietnam was unveiled at the De Nhat Phan Khang shopping centre in HCM City.
It took 45 days to make such a big ball weighing 534 kg. The ball, which was made on the initiatives of the staff of the shopping centre, has been recognized as the country's largest leather ball by the Guinness Records Centre of Vietnam.
To show Vietnamese love for football on the international front, was the key idea behind creating such a big football.
The shopping Centre will conduct a number of promotional programs for the country's soccer fans, to mark the 2010 World Cup, which is about to begin on June 11. A live television commentary will also be sponsored for the south-eastern province of Dong Nai by the shopping Centre.
