Shoes & Leather Exhibition provides excellent opportunity, ASSINTECAL

The participation of components manufacturers at the show, between June 1st and 3rd, reinforces the importance of strengthening the exchange between Brazil and China
With the objective of continuing the project to introduce the “made in Brazil" products into the Chinese market, the components industry was present at the Shoes & Leather Exhibition, held from June 1st to 3rd in Guangzhou, in the province of Guangdong - known as the largest footwear distribution center. The participation at the event was promoted by Assintecal - Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear, and Manufactured Goods, in partnership with Apex-Brasil - Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency. The Brazilian companies that attended the exhibition were: Boxflex, Flecksteel, Linhanyl, Metalúrgica Açoreal, and Next Ltda
During the event, around 80 business contacts were made, among which were buyers from countries like China, Lebanon, Thailand, Indonesia, and India. Considering these direct contacts with such professionals, Assintecal estimates the generation of some US$ 500 thousand for the components sector over the next 12 months. This information was provided by Assintecal's Foreign Market Department, after gathering information at companies that were at the exhibition. Parallel to its participation for business purposes, the Association presented the materials developed from the concepts of the Inspirations Forum for the summer 2011.
According to Lisiane Kunst, Assintecal's Foreign Market vice-president, the presence of the Brazilian companies at the Shoes & Leather Exhibition was an excellent opportunity for the exchange of information, the strengthening of the image of the Brazilian products, and the establishment of contacts with Asian industries. “We have participated in this show since 2005, always seeking to offer higher visibility to the Brazilian products as far as quality and uniqueness are concerned. At the Chinese exhibition, located in one of the most important footwear and leather goods manufacturing bases in the world, we have the opportunity to strengthen business relations between Brazil and Asia, thus enabling the opening of new businesses for the leather-footwear companies", points out Ms Kunst.
Present at the event with its new line of Ecoforma By Ecogreen counters and toe-puffs, Boxflex, from Campo Bom, Rio Grande do Sul state, showed components that use processes that are less aggressive to the environment, with the use of PU-based polymers produced by renewable sources. According to Carlos André Spitzer, the company's export and import supervisor, one of the strong points of this edition of Shoes & Leather was the great acceptance of the Brazilian products by Asian buyers and their interest in the quality of the "by Brasil" materials. “We were glad. It was an important exhibition, with attendees focused on and interested in establishing business partnerships", says Spitzer. Thecompany was represented by Nuova Leather.
