Indian leather processing chemicals PLC, better known as Adorn Chemicals PLC, founded with a capital of 25 million Birr, officially launched its operations on July 17, 2010.

Bhagwant Singh Bishnoi, Indian Ambassador to Ethiopia, while delivering his speech at the inaugural function said that, launch of the company in Ethiopia would mean that, the country can now be self reliant in leather processing chemicals.

Bishnoi also said that, the company mainly sources its goods to the domestic leather manufacturing units. More so, the company among others also produces chemicals like, fat liquor, pigment emulsion, spray paints and chromium sulphate.

Trade and Industry State Minister, Tadesse Haile said that, commencement of the leather chemical factory would be of great help to the country in conserving the much required foreign currency. Ethiopia holds superior governance, stable political and macro economy that draws over a dozen of investors from India.

Many of the companies from India, amongst others, have invested in industries like manufacturing, chemical, agriculture and food processing. Haile has urged Indian investors to explore the enormous opportunity of the investment potential of Ethiopia.

Adorn Chemicals PLC was formed as a joint venture project between three premier manufacturing firms from India.
