Hailing 22.5% growth in the month of August, 2010, Mr A. Sakthivel, President, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), said it reiterated the Federation's view that India's exporters are on our course to realize the export target or even surpass it to reach $210 billion.
Mr Sakthivel attributed this growth to the diversification of the export market primarily due to the strategic initiatives taken by the Commerce and Industry Ministry under the Focus Market Scheme and Market Linked Focus Product Scheme.
The Federation of Indian Export Organisations represents the Indian entrepreneurs' spirit of enterprise in the global market. Known popularly as "FIEO", this apex body of Indian export promotion organizations was set up jointly by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India and trade and industry in the year 1965. FIEO is thus a partner of the Government of India in promoting India's exports.
