Best of APLF Awards announced

The “Best Bag Collection Awards” goes to Cledran Co. Ltd., from Japan for its workmanship, quality and originality of design that gave the collection a unique personality.

The “Best Man-Made Award” goes to Jee Chang Enterprise Co. Ltd., also from Taiwan for its very flexible and soft, transparent PU-coated material with metallic effects, ideal for trendy bags and sporty shoe trims.

The “Best Natural Material Award” goes to Limonta Spa from Italy for its pure cotton dyed with natural dyes giving it a 'loom-made' look; ideal for linings, shoes and bags.

The “Best Innovation for Leather Award” goes to Heinen Lederfabrik from Germany for their minimised carbon footprint shoe upper leather which is produced through using electricity produced through regenerative, CO2-neutral sources. The minute amount of gas used to heat water for major operations is also compensated via the company's planting of green saplings.

The “Best Technology for Fashion Leather” goes to Officina Delle Pelli from Italy for their acid-washed lather, embossed and painted to give a three-dimensional look to the texture; suitable for handbags, components and panels for garments.

The “Best Fashion Leather Collection Award” goes to Cetinkaya Kurk Deri from Turkey for their pleated leathers in different patterns and soft waxy finish, ideal for new garments styling with 3D looks.

The next Best of APLF Awards takes place during FA, 28 – 30 September 2011; MM&T and FA, 28 – 30 March 2012.
