M&J Group, internationally renowned as major player in the fashion supply chain and most reliable garment making specialist, participated for the first time at the Denim Premiere Vision, the leading premium denim supply show, which was held in Paris, on April 26 and 27, 2017, in booth D11, stealing the spotlight to unveil the sustainable future of denim.

The company presented two of its latest projects based of the fundamental values that should animate the future of the sector.

The co-owner of M&J Group, Munir Ahmed, had decided to invest significant resources in a project that would have allowed to obtain measurable and objective data talking about textile manufacturing processes. The project was named START TO MEASURE, resulting a huge success for a system that has seen six years of intense working and developing, involving a multicultural and multi-skilled team.

Denim Première Vision has been chosen to officially present to the public the final version of START TO MEASURE, the fact-checker of sustainable change and the ultimate green technology able to scientifically and objectively asses consumption in the laundry industry.

The high value of the system is also testified by the inclusion of START TO MEASURE in the Denim Première Vision “Phigital” area, a space for new inspiration, dedicated to innovation and technology at the service of creating new paths for the denim value chain.

START TO MEASURE is a complete and highly-integrated system that works through several proprietary software systems and a cutting-edge hardware that is able to monitor every moment of production and every element within the company. This integrated system designed by a team of M&J engineers traces every garment step by step, thus developing sure data on the quantity of resources (especially water, electricity, gas, steam, chemicals and total value added time per garment) used in production.

For this special occasion the collection that was designed and realised entirely at M&J R&D Lab is produced using Garmon GreenScreen chemicals and Nimbus technology. After the interest registered at Kingpins, M&J hosts Garmon to present its revolutionary Nimbus, the very first range of chemical auxiliaries and dyes specifically selected to be nebulised in closed systems, and GreenScreen certified chemicals. In order to verify the real consumption resulting from these chemical innovations, M&J Group provides START TO MEASURE. The collection at M&J’s stand shows the incredible results obtained employing these innovative and green methods, both aesthetically and in terms of saving resources.

Evolution and research are the strong points of “Grindstone” new collection for A/W 2018/19 where all the expertise of M&J Group has been put to the test developing a brand new line based on a cutting-edge concept, which will feature a range of innovative looks. “Grindstone” is a collection directly inspired by the working class world, chosen as a point of reference to develop innovative washings, inspired by the suggestions offered by manual labours practices and icons.
