The conference is being jointly organised by Al Ghurair University and International Forum of Management Scholars (Infoms).

In his inaugural address Professor Dr Abdurahem Mohammed Al Ameen, President of the University, said: “I consider the conference theme extremely relevant and important in today's global perspective. Technology and management undoubtedly are the twin pillars of success for the organisations including government, private and non-profit organisations. We have examples of companies such as Nokia (international) which commands 36% of the world market share in cell phones and etisalat in the UAE which has reported around DH1.67 billion profits during 2008. There is no magic or box of tricks. It is the high level of commitment, innovative technology, efficient use of resources, and effective implementation of strategies that have led to the success of these companies.”

The President concluded that the conference was the first step in preparing a highly qualified and professional work force to meet the demand of the competitive regional and global markets. He said the conference will go a long was in addressing the management problems by using the effective tool of technology to handle obstacles in any sector. However, he maintained that it is important to apply an integrated strategy to manage and control work flow in businesses.

The delegates who had come from around the world noted that the Middle East has recently witnessed a steady growth in several domains which in turn require smart solutions, employment of advanced technology and effective management to overcome the challenges faced by the region.
