TAF & Rihanna develop new functional innerwear fabrics

India’s Rihanna Industries has developed a new range of fabrics with various functional properties like odour-resistance and breathable, and which are very soft on skin. The ingredients that impart these functionalities are high performance fibres, Amicor and Pilbloc, from Thai Acrylic Fibre, (Aditya Birla Group), a leading acrylic fibre producer.
The fabrics made along with spandex will find applications in various end-uses including innerwear, thermals, leggings, yoga-apparel, and other close-to-the-body applications.
“We specialise in functional fabrics and garments and are always looking for innovations that can help us developing high performance products for our customers, both in India and around the world. Apparel that are close-to-the-body need to be highly comfortable to the wearer and at the same time be able to keep him/her fresh and breathable. Amicor fibre with its anti-bacterial properties and Pilbloc fibre with it’s very soft and smooth handle, enable us to achieve both”, Avnish Agarwal, director of Rihanna Industries said.
Amicor is a specialty anti-microbial fibre manufactured using the patented intelligent fibre technology. The fibre is specifically engineered to incorporate additives / active ingredients into the core of the fibre. It is because of this technology that Amicor fibre promises durable and long –lasting anti-microbial function, at least up to 100 washes. Certified by Oeko Tex Standard 100 Class 1 and fully compliant with BPR legislation, Amicor fibre is one of the pioneers of anti-bacterial technology, Rihanna Industries said in a press release.
Pilbloc fibre is a specially designed fibre with the intention to minimise the pilling that is associated with synthetic fibre. Also available in micro-denier, the fibre, in addition to anti-pilling action provides excellent touch on the skin.
“A blend of Amicor fibre and Pilbloc fibre provides all the properties desired in garments that are worn close-to-the-body.
