Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd., the Teijin Group's fibre-product converting company, has announced that it will showcase its new range of high-performance fabrics at Performance Days expo, a show that introduces functional fabrics for sportswear, athleisure, corporatewear, and workwear, to be held in Munich, Germany, on April 26 and 27, 2017, in stand 112.

The Teijin Frontier stand will showcase products that combine high performance and superior comfort to meet diverse demands for sports and daily wear. Teijin Frontier aims to improve awareness of value-added fabrics as well as develop new customers by participating in Performance Days.

The company will display Deltapeak, a next-generation fabric that offers a well-balanced combination of softness, durability, elasticity, ultraviolet protection and anti-transparency. Wind-blocking properties can be added utilising its dense, flat-knit surface. Nylon-based Deltapeak also has outstanding abrasion resistance.

Octa, a polyester fibre that has a unique, highly modified cross-section with eight projections aligned in a radial pattern around a hollow fibre, will also be displayed. Octa Neo is a multilayer fibre that combines Octa fibre with various chemical and natural staple fibres.

Teijin will present Eco Storm, a waterproof and breathable material made from chemically recycled polyester that is produced with Teijin’s Eco Circle fibres using close-loop recycling process. Eco Storm, which comprises a laminated structure with a thin polyester film, also can be recycled into new polyester material.

The company will exhibit fluorocarbon-free water-repellent materials at the expo. Fluorocarbon, a halocarbon in which certain hydrogen atoms are replaced with fluorine, is a greenhouse gas targeted under the Kyoto Protocol. Fluorine build-up is thought to be harmful to the human body and the environment. Teijin Frontier develops durable and water-repellent fluorocarbon-free materials as part of its commitment to environmental protection.

Teijin Frontier’s polytrimethylene terephthalate fibre, Solotex, will also be a part of the show. It is highly soft, stretchable, shape retaining, and durable. As a partially bio-derived material, it also helps to conserve fossil resources. (GK)
