Grace Glorieux, the line of color-centric handbags by designer Melissa Glorieux, is announcing the launch of its first national collection. The boldly colored, chakra-inspired handbag line will deliver to retail stores in major U.S. metropolitan areas this fall.

I love color. I love to surround myself with rich, beautiful colors. It makes me happy, said Melissa. And carrying a colorful bag is so much fun. I think a lot of women feel the same way.

Melissas fall color palette is inspired by the chakras, which she studied during a recent Costa Rican yoga retreat. The crimson and ginger Love colorway is inspired by the second chakra, the center of unlimited creativity and love. The olive and azure Peace colorway symbolizes the fourth chakra, the center of harmony and compassion. The third colorway, Strength in aubergine and amethyst, signifies the vision and clarity of the sixth chakra. Fall collection handbags are made from lush cotton velveteen.

To ensure that each bag has the personal, artistic feel Grace Glorieux bags are known for, the interior pocket of every bag is block-printed by hand and completed with a color-coordinating Swarovski crystal.

Motivated by a belief that art and color ought to be integrated into everyday life, Melissa launched Grace Glorieux in 2003 in Washington, DC and her bags were carried by several stores on The Washingtonian magazines "25 Hot Stores for Summer Clothes" list in June 2004. The company relocated to San Francisco in February 2005. San Franciscos entrepreneurial spirit is the spark that ignited Grace Glorieuxs first national line.
