Copenhagen Fashion Summit adds eight high-level speakers

The Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2019, a business event on sustainability in fashion to be held on May 15-16, has lined up eight high-level names for the programme as speakers. In partnership with group of strategic partners like Kering, H&M, Target, Bestseller, Li & Fung, and Sustainable Apparel Coalition, Global Fashion Agenda leads the fashion industry.

Julia Ormond is an Emmy award-winning actress and producer who has appeared in over 30 films and has played over 20 television roles. Tim Blanks was named editor-at-large in 2015 for the online publication, The Business of Fashion. In this capacity, he travels the world covering major shows and profiling important personalities in the world of fashion and entertainment, according to a press release on the show.

Humanitarian and social entrepreneur, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe founded African Fashion International in 2007 with a mission to share African fashion with the world, stimulate growth of the fashion and textile industry in Africa, advance economic and social development, preserve African cultures and empower women.

Ryan Gellert, as general manager – Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Patagonia, oversees all sales, marketing, sustainability, and operational initiatives for the brand, throughout the region.

Rachel Arthur is co-founder and chief innovation officer of Current Global, a consultancy transforming how fashion brands and retailers intersect with technology focusing on sustainability and the connected customer. Arthur leads a global team of experts delivering innovative integrations and experiences for brands, powered by a network of top technologies and start-ups.

Mike Barry is director of sustainable business at the retailer Marks & Spencer. His job is to work with the Marks & Spencer leadership team to integrate sustainability into the heart of the business across customer propositions, global retail channels, and supply chains.

Daniel Fibiger is director of global partnerships and supplier sustainability at Gap. He is responsible for the company’s stakeholder engagement strategies focused on labour and human rights issues.

Maya Singer is a journalist, screenwriter. A regular contributor to American Vogue, she has earned wide acclaim for her cover stories and features addressing the intersection of politics, culture and style, and for her reporting on the fashion supply chain. (GK)
