Maya Jama & Hilary Alexander to be speakers at Pure London

Pure London has announced that fashion designer Maya Jama and fashion journalist Hilary Alexander are joining its comprehensive content programme as keynote speakers. Pure London is the UK’s leading trade fashion buying event, representing womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories and young fashion, which will be held from July 22 to 24, 2018, in London.
Influential TV, radio presenter and fashion designer Maya Jama will take to the main stage in conversation with Antonia O’Brien discussing fashion, diversity and everything in between. She is also backing Pure London’s Power of One campaign supporting the UN global goals for sustainable development and will be making her pledge at the show.
On July 24, 2018, celebrated fashion journalist and broadcaster Hilary Alexander OBE will host a panel discussing the future of sustainable fashion design. She will be joined on stage by sunday times style columnist and UN global goals advocate Scarlett Curtis, Michael Beutler, director of sustainability operations at Kering Group; Noorin Khamisani, founder of outsider and lecturer at the London College of Fashion; Muchaneta Kapfunde, founding editor-in-chief & wearable tech stylist from FashNerd.com; and Aurelie Fontan, this year’s graduate fashion week winner of the M&S womenswear award, the catwalk textiles award, and the Dame Vivienne Westwood sustainable & ethical award.
On July 22, 2018, the main stage will also welcome Harriet Voking, head of communications at Livia Firth’s sustainability consultancy Eco-Age to discuss bringing real and substantive sustainable change to the fashion industry. This will be followed by a styling session with Antonia O’Brien, offering advice on incorporating the new season trends into your wardrobe.
Fashion influencers Georgina Horne from fullerfigurefullerbust.com; George Friend, award winning blogger and social media expert; and Danie Jade, of daniejade.co.uk, will be on the Future Stage to discuss creating stand-out content, growing followers organically, and working with brands and retailers.
