Developed by University of Ulster, STITCH - a unique business enterprise will have its representatives at the Milan Fashion Week, famous for showcasing some of Europe's well known designers like Armani, Moschino and Prada.
Companies like Adria, Edel Mac Bride, Crana Knits and Donegal Hosiery are also part of the team which will visit Italy.
Good relations have already been developed by the North West and Textile Cluster with the retail businesses in Italy and it further hopes to widen and develop those links.
STITCH targets to push fashion entrepreneurs to be more creative in their approach right from design to distribution. The trade event which is scheduled to be held in September aims to fulfill these goals.
The event provides the people concerned with the design led enterprises, operating in the fashion and textile sector to go all the way to Italy to watch the business practices there. Local companies will see the benefits Italian companies have enjoyed working together and it will help them build relation on an international level.
There are four important textile and clothing clusters in Italy that include Veneto, Prato, Capri and Biella with the Prato as the largest having 9,000 enterprises and 50,000 people working for it.
