Launch of 4 new CSD regional focus groups

Over the past couple of years the Society has developed a policy of establishing Focus Groups around the country to provide a communication and networking opportunity for members.
Focus Groups have proved popular with members who found the Regional Committee system too rigid.
This new model allows smaller groups of members to meet, socialise and network on an informal basis.
None of the groups are initiated by the Society; they come about because one or more members wish to meet.
The informal nature of the meetings means that non-CSD members are also able to participate.
Focus Groups rely on members' enthusiasm and efforts and we are pleased to announce that 4 new groups have recently launched in the following areas:
- London
- Scotland (Edinburgh)
- Scotland (Glasgow)
- Yorkshire & Humberside (Leeds)
These are in addition to the The Chartered Society of Designers (CSD) Northwest Focus Group which meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month in Manchester.
Feedback from the inaugural London Focus group was very positive:
“I enjoyed it very much and will definitely attend future events. I like the location, the time/date and the informal aspect to it. I find it very interesting to talk to other designers in the CSD, especially from related disciplines such as graphics and interior.”
Holger Jacobs MCSD - “The meeting was very positive, especially as we had so many different disciplines represented and everyone appeared to be at different stages in their career path. I found myself almost mentoring others, this made me appreciate the value of such groups giving time and experience when asked for and sharing experiences with others, and invited speakers seemed to be of interest to others.”
