For encouraging exports of gems and jewelry to Saudi Arabia, an Indian delegation has been sent to visit the country.
Concering this, the Gems and Jewelry Export Promotion Council(GJEPC) is promoting the 'International Jewellery Show Signature' (IIJS), which will be held in Goa from February 29 to March 3 2008.
IIJS Signature will be inviting around 250 exhibitors having a niche in the industry. Besides, trade visitors from all corners of the world will be there to represent their respective countries.
Experts believe that India's trade with Saudi Arabia with regard to gems and jewelry will prove very beneficial for the country since the latter is known for being the largest consumer of diamond and gold jewelry.
To promote a healthy trade relations with Saudi Arabia, a delegation from the Mumbai-based Indo-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industries also visited the country. Officials from the association are of the opinion that with policies getting liberalized, stakeholders of Saudi Arabia have immense scope for investment and trade in India.
