White Club presents Dutch Touch in Milan

On special invitation by the White event in Milan, fashion designers Spijkers en Spijkers and Klavers van Engelen presented their Autumn/Winter 08-09 collections during the Milan fashion week.
In this first introduction to the Italian market the two labels received great interest from a network of Italian manufactures and buyers.
Dutch Touch Milan, a trade mission supported by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, was a successful initiative which will have a follow-up scheduled for the Milan fashion week of September 2008.
Spijkers en Spijkers:
Just after showing their A/W collection during London Fashion Week a week before, Spijkers en Spijkers were invited by White to present their collection in Milan with an exhibition and a showroom.
Their next presentation will be during the Paris fashion week. For the AW 08-09 collection Spijkers en Spijkers found inspiration in the heroine Scarlett O'Hara, seduced by the iconic image of a muse that was both strong-willed and dynamic.
Unifying O'Hara's forceful nature with the depth of artist Aubrey Beardsley's dark creations from the Art Nouveau era, Spijkers en Spijkers have produced a story that coins the phrase 'romantic empowerment'.
With clever attention to detail, it is a fusion of themes in a collection that is amorously dark, empowering and surreal. Spijkers en Spijkers have since the label's foundation in 2000 built an instantly recognizable and desirable style,one known for its graphic detailing and outstanding use of colour.
