Paraná is the second largest textile center in Brazil, producing 150 million pieces of clothing per year, which represents US$ 2.8 billion in earnings, as affirmed by the president of the Federation of Industries of the State of Paraná, Rodrigo da Rocha Loures, during the official opening of the second edition of the Paraná Business Collection held July 28 thru August 1.

"We have nearly 5 thousand textile companies in the state and this event is a small sample of our best. Congratulations to all involved.”

The Paraná Business Collection gathers a showroom of Paraná companies from the men's, women's and children's fashion segments, introduces designers from the state in the fashion shows held every night and also provides information and fashion updates through the lectures held in the morning.

ABIT supported the event and brought international journalists (all from Latin America) and buyers from Portugal, Spain and Colombia to this edition.

"On behalf of ABIT president, Aguinaldo, I congratulate all those responsible for this event. The Brazilian textile and apparel sector is the second largest employer in Brazil and it is present throughout the country with more than 30 thousand companies.

And here in Paraná the sector is present in all 399 townships, generating jobs and income. Because of this importance, ABIT inserted Paraná Business Collection in the Sector's national calendar and increased the international level by bringing journalists and buyers from abroad," underscored Ardisson Naim Akel, representing ABIT.

Jefferson Kulig's Fashion Show opens the PBC:
Paraná stylist Jefferson Kulig, who already participates in the SPFW, made the fashion show that opened the Paraná Fashion Collection.

Known for his research in technological fabrics and mixture of raw materials, Jefferson brought pieces with metal applications in the legs, screened fabrics, laser perforated embroideries and metal applications forming embroideries.

The shapes varied, at times loose with balloon shapes, asymmetrical shirts, cutouts, plunging backs, gores, folds and well-defined waists.

Other times they are tight fitting in rigid serge jackets with belts, buckles, outer pockets, pleats with viscolycra skirts and leggings with prints. Knit dresses in Elastane, screens and satin prints complete the collection.
