After winning the first edition of the Ponto Zero Project with a collection inspired on fractals, the theory of chaos and luck during the 24th Casa de Criadores, in São Paulo (December 2008), Karin Feller (photo), 21 years of age, is now on her way to Europe.

The new stylist will stay there from May 29-31 where she will show Brazilian fashion from her perspective at the Mercado Mundo Mix - Portuguese edition, with four other “Casa” stylists: Gustavo Silvestre, Ianire Soraluze, João Pimenta and Milena Hanadi. Besides exhibiting their works at a stand, the idea is for the five Brazilians to also have fashion shows with their new creations for the Portuguese, focused on the 2010 Summer.

With that, the stylists will not have the incentive and support to develop their works, but also be stimulated towards exportation. “Known for catalyzing urban youth behavior and the most diverse creative trends, Mercado Mundo Mix satisfies Ponto Zero Project's objective of promoting the very new production of creators in Brazil and abroad. Thus, it is with great pride that we will provide the competition's finalists with the background of an event that has more than 200 editions in its long history and an estimated public of two million consumers,” underscores Beto Lago, idealizer of Mercado Mundo Mix.

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Karin, who graduated last year in Fashion Design from Santa Marcelina College, also began to integrate Casa's new talent cast. “We are very happy about the project, since it is the first time industry entities and events with tradition on the market get together for an initiative geared towards colleges and fashion courses, from where names with great technical and creative potential emerge,” says André Hidalgo, general director of Casa de Criadores, who celebrates the space for students at the event.

Check out the links below for the new stylists' fashion shows, with their creations for the Winter of 2009, presented at the 224th edition of "Casa":

More about Ponto Zero – Idealized by ABIT, the State of São Paulo Textile Industry Union (Sinditêxtil-SP) and the Casa de Criadores and Mercado Mundo Mix events, Ponto Zero has the support of Texbrasil, Brazilian Textile Chain Strategic Program, created by ABIT in partnership with APEX-Brasil, Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency. Launched during the 23rd edition of the Casa de Criadores, in May 2008, the Program focuses on discovering new fashion professionals in the Entrepreneur Stylist category.

“The insertion of new talents is what guarantees fresh perspectives in fashion, permitting the launch of original products. However, it is vital to prepare these professionals for the challenge of managing their brands. That is what we are doing, because it is not enough to have desire and creativity without knowledge and information about the fashion business and about the mechanisms for domestic and foreign markets,” says Rafael Cervone, director of the Texbrasil program.
