On 12 November 2009, the Swiss Textile Federation will be presenting its international fashion prize, the Swiss Textiles Award, for the 10th time at the Schiffbau in Zurich on the occasion of the Stella Contemporary Fashion Award event. The prize has given a career boost to former winners, many of whom now enjoy an international reputation.

At this anniversary event they will be reporting live on their career development and experiences as Swiss Textiles Award Winners. The Swiss Textile Federation will be presenting the Swiss Textiles Award for the 10th time on 12 November 2009 at the Schiffbau in Zurich. This is one of the world's best endowed fashion prizes for young designers. The prize is worth 100,000 euros to the competition winner. This sum will be presented to the winner at a decisive stage in his or her career in the form of benefits in kind (e.g. press relations, show organization, production of collections).

Six finalists from all over the world admitted to the competition
The candidates for the Swiss Textiles Award were designated after a nomination procedure by an international team of experts drawn from the fashion world. The designers were required to meet the following criteria:

- The designer must have international sales channels, i.e. the label must be on sale in prestigious stores in several countries.
- Reports about his or her label must already have appeared in the international fashion press.

The six chosen finalists were finally designated after an internal selection procedure and will have an opportunity to compete for the Swiss Textiles Award on the catwalk on 12 November 2009:

As in previous years, the winner will be chosen by an international jury on the show evening. Apart from creativity and innovation, the criteria to be judged will be the marketability or commercial potential of the collections. New members are appointed to the international jury every year. Lisa Feldmann, Chief Editor of the lifestyle magazine annabelle, will take over the chairmanship of the jury this year from Albert Kriemler (AKRIS).

The Swiss Textiles Award and its former winners: a success story The Swiss Textiles Award fashion promotion prize was launched in the year 2000 and has been presented annually ever since by the TVS Swiss Textile Federation. Initially, the focus was on Swiss designers, but the award has been international since 2002. Since 2003, a team of experts has also been called upon to nominate candidates. The names of the winners confirm the success of the system.
