Diane Nicholson as President of NPD Beauty Division

US based leading sales & marketing Information Company The NPD Group Inc announced the appointment of Diane Nicholson to president of NPD Beauty, the company's beauty-tracking division. Effective on July 1 st, Nicholson will be replacing Timra Carlson, who has decided to relocate and return to New England. However, Carlson will continue to be involved in the beauty business as an advisor.

A seven-year veteran of NPD, Diane launched NPD's Fashion Footwear business and rose through the division to become president of NPD Fashionworld. Most recently, she has been leading NPD's Financial Services business. In addition to her NPD tenure, Diane has 12 years of experience in both the manufacturing and retail sectors, including positions at R.H. Macy's, the May Merchandising Company and Liz Claiborne.
“Change is often difficult, and we will miss having Timra at the helm. I am pleased that she will stay involved as NPD continues to expand its Beauty service,” said Dennis Brown, group president of NPD Beauty, House and Fashion. “We are thrilled to have Diane in this role and believe that she brings the requisite experience and skills to lead and continue the dedication and service that our clients have come to expect from the U.S. Beauty business,” said Brown.
Timra Carlson has been with NPD for more than 17 years and was responsible for the launch of NPD Beauty in 1996 and subsequently established NPD as the authority and data of record for the U.S. prestige beauty market.
